Iskon Temple Juhu celebrating Musical Celebration for Janmashtami Radhakrishna Utsav 2022

Celebrating the influence and joy of Krishna consciousness this Janmashtami, Bhakti Kala Kshetra is organizing a six-day musical festival, the Radha Krishna Utsav 2022, by bringing together some of the most celebrated music and dance artists of the country. The festivities for Janmashtami, which falls on August 19, start from August 12 to August 17, at the ISKCON temple in Juhu, Mumbai.

The festivities will be held under the able leadership of the managing trustee Dr. Surdas Prabhuji to celebrate the devotion of the artists towards Lord Krishna through their talents. Among the various programs, there would be bhajans sung on August 12 for Lord Krishna by Shailen Negi and Mahesh Sharma. The  Radha Krishna festival starts with the Journey of Srila Prabhupada. A special program for the 1st time in the entire world after more than 56years since it was born on 13th July 1966

depicting the birth of ISKCON one of the biggest spiritual organisations in the world. The journey of Srila Prabhupada has a bautiful Audio Visual at the back ground LED displaying the various hardships and stages the great saint Srila Prabhupada the founder acharya of Iskcon had to face when he started his Journey for Boston USA to spread Krishna consciousness.  The beautiful journey is well crafted  curated and  narrated by Shri Rajesh Negi

The entire Journey is being musically composed and Sung by Shri Shailen Negi under the guidance of his mother Smt Indu Negi.

The magic of Srila Prabhupada was revealed on the 12th of August 2022 at the Iskcon Auditorium Juhu.

Within the vicinity of the world famous Hare Rama! Hare Krishna! Temple Juhu.

On August 13, there was a Santoor recital by Maestro Pt Rahul Sharma who paid  tribute to his Late father Padmavibhushan Shiv Kumar Sharma  followed by flute recital by  noted flute maestro Pt Ronu Majumdar.

Singer Jaswinder Singh regaled the listeners with his bhajans on August 14, while Vivek Pandey and Anwesshaa has performed on August 15. On August 16, artists such as Rattan Sharma and Ankita Joshi  performed while there would be a musical dance ballet performance on Radha Ras Bihari by actress Hema Malini.

The International Society for Krishna Consciousness or ISKCON was founded in 1966 in New York City, USA, by A C Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. Swami Prabhupada was born in Kolkata in 1896 and was educated at the Scottish Church College. He became a follower of Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakur while working in a pharmaceutical business. At the age of 54, he left his family , became a sanyasi, and started staying in Vrindavan Radha Damodar temple. Srila Prabhupada started writing the Bhagwat Puran. After 15 long years Srila Prabhupada at the age of 69

got an oportunity to go to UsA in a cargo ship Jaldutta with the suport of Smt Sumati Morarji.  37 long days of sea travel surviving 2 heratattacks with as good as no money Srila Prabhupada reached USA and alone started his jouney of Krishna consciousness to form Iskcon at the age of 70 in New York USA.

Srila Prabhupada traveled across India and the West to spread the message of Krishna consciousness.

Traveling across the United States of America, Swami Prabhupada and his disciples popularised the Hare Krishna movement through street chanting (sankirtana), public speeches, and book distribution.

The Radha Krishna Utsav 2022 was organised under the watchful eyes of Iskcons Bhakti kala kshetra
