बनारस: सुर-साधना की आत्मा

बनारस में जन्मी और पली-बढ़ी ममता शर्मा के स्वर में काशी की सांस्कृतिक चेतना स्वाभाविक रूप से समाई है। कजरी, चैती और लोकधुनें उनके गायन की पहचान हैं। उनके शब्दों में, “बनारस केवल मेरी जन्मभूमि नहीं, मेरी सुर-साधना की आत्मा है।”

गुरु-परंपरा का सशक्त आधार

उन्हें बनारस घराने के जलपा गुरुजी से प्रारंभिक मार्गदर्शन मिला, जिसके बाद पद्मभूषण श्रीमती गिरिजा देवी जी की शिष्या बनने का सौभाग्य प्राप्त हुआ। दोनों गुरुओं से उन्हें शास्त्रीय अनुशासन के साथ लोकभाव की गहराई समझने का अवसर मिला यही उनके संगीत का आधार स्तंभ है।

Mumbai: Apna Purvanchal Mahasangh, a prominent organization representing the voice and identity of people from Purvanchal across the country, successfully held its National Executive Committee Meeting for the year 2026 on January 4, 2026, at the prestigious The Presidency Radio Club, Arthur Bunder Road, Colaba, Mumbai. The meeting was conducted in a dignified and disciplined atmosphere.

The meeting was chaired by National President, Senior Advocate Ashok Kumar Dubey, while General Secretary Dr. Ravi Rameshchandra efficiently conducted the proceedings and provided direction to the discussions.

The primary objective of the meeting was to deliberate on the National Action Plan for 2026, organizational expansion, youth participation, education, social justice, cultural preservation, and the overall socio-economic development of the Purvanchal community. The highlight of the meeting was the gracious presence of Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Speaker Rahul Narwekar. On this occasion, he formally unveiled the Mahasangh’s official diary, pen, and traditional Purvanchali gamcha.

National President Ashok Kumar Dubey honored Mr. Narwekar by presenting him with a Purvanchali gamcha and a bouquet. Addressing the gathering, Mr. Narwekar stated that the Purvanchal community has made significant contributions to India’s social and economic development. He emphasized that the distance between Mumbai and Purvanchal has now diminished, as people are connected through various means. Concluding his address, he raised the slogan “Jai Purvanchal, Jai Maharashtra.”
