Her last film Padman has not only created a stir in the society for relevant reasons but also gave the actress the positioning as a brand. Urmila Mahanta, a known face of our Hindi films Manjhi and Akira is gearing up for her next which is an Assamese film based on ULFA terrorist activities.
Talking about the film, Urmila says, “The film is a female oriented based on ULFA terrorist activities and fake encounters during insurgency. It is a journey of a girl named Palki Kashyap who is trying to find out the truth about her father. Its in the thriller space.”
“Since I have done films in Assam, my director Monjori Borkotoky approached me for the role and I loved the script. Veteran Bishnu Kharghoria will also play a pivotal role along with me. I am shooting the entire film in Guwahati for next 20-25 days. The film schedule is expected to wrap up by December 16th and the makers are aiming to send it to several film festivals prior to the theatrical release,” she adds.
Recently Urmila won the best actress award at the 7th State Film Award for most talked about film of Assam Bokul. She received the award from eminent directors Prakash Jha and Amol Palekar. For the same film, Urmila also bagged the best actress award at Patna International Film Festival.

Recently the famous Beauty Pageant Miss India Continent 2018 organized by Aman Gandhi Film Productions Private Limited took place in Hotel Mumbai House Andheri Mumbai India . The show was based on the theme of beauty fights for respect of Women and Save Girls. TV and Bollywood Actress Miss Maitry Raizada from Gujarat Saurashtra won the title Miss INDIA Continent 2018 & India’Glory Award Women Empowerment Catogory. Miss Maitry Raizada is being introduced to Media by senior journalist and social activist K Ravi.
1st Runner up was Miss Kimberly Anne Govender from South Africa ( Indian Origin) Second runner up was Miss Sakshi Khurana from Jammu who is a pilot by profession She also winner of Miss INDIA Continent North India.
Third runner up was Suparna Dey from Siliguri, North east. She also won the title Miss India Continent Winner of North East.

In her latest fitness routines on Instagram, the model-turned-actress has set the temperature soaring high. This stunning young beauty is passionate about fitness and lives by the mantra of staying fit and healthy.
At this ripe age, she already has some amazing accomplishments in her kitty. She was seen in three popular music videos – Mere Khuda by Tseries, Tax by Zee Music and Dimple Wali Girl by Sony Music. In just one and a half years, Vedieka has shot for 10 TV commercials for a variety of brands.
Having done some small television commercials in Kolkata, Vedieka moved to Mumbai to realize her dreams of becoming an actor. A simple girl with high ambitions, she has done print ads for Kalyan Jewelers with Mr. Amitabh Bachchan and Mrs. Jaya Bachchan. Her other upcoming ads are for Titan’s SmartWatch, Kingfisher Radlar, and Sun TV promo for Kolkata. Talking about her experience shooting the video she says, “It was a great experience for me. Since I am an actress so i had to regulate my weight for the video. It was a smooth process. I am glad that on this festive occasion, my first music single is out. It is a great feeling.”
Shalini always aspired to become a singer since childhood but happened to be an actor to begin her career in the industry. She said, “I always wanted to become a singer since I was a kid but since I am not a trained singer so television happened to me.” “This is my singing debut and I look forward to playback more often in films but things aren’t in my hands as of now,” she adds.
When prodded about her upcoming projects, she didn’t reveal much about it, she says, “I have film projects in my kitty but I can’t talk much about it.”
