Sarla, a young woman, suffers humiliation and abuse from her husband Suresh (played by Mahesh Wanve), who is ego-driven and a man devoid of respect. Despite promising to help Sarla with her education, Suresh mistreats Sarla as well as her mother and sister. Sarla, frustrated by the passive acceptance of such behaviour by her mother and mother-in-law, resolves to regain her self-respect.
