Environmentalist Arushi Nishank Spurs Thousands Of Women To Pick Up Sui Dhaga To Make Khadi Masks – Sets Sights On OTT Projects With Bollywood Bigwigs...

21^st August 2020, Kolkata: Inspired by the Gandhian values of self-reliance, social activist, environmentalist and classical kathak dancer Arushi Nishank of Uttarakhand supported and trained thousands of rural women in Uttarakhand to take up sui dhaga (needle and thread) to make reusable khadi and suti masks for free distribution to the army personnel, police, rural workers and frontline covid warriors. So far, over a lac of such masks have been distributed in Delhi, Mumbai and cities and towns of Uttarakhand. Arushi is also planning some big projects with Bollywood directors and producers for the OTT platform.

“Khadi is a symbol of Gandhiji’s self-reliance and is environmentally friendly and in tune with the spirit of Prime Minister’s Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative. Thousands of rural women who made these masks developed skills and are gainfully employed,” said Arushi at an Ek Mulakat webinar in conversation with Ehsaas Women of Kolkata member, Nilisha Agarwal. The webinar was organized by Kolkata-based NGO Prabha Khaitan Foundation. Over the years Ek Mulakat has become a popular forum for free-wheeling discussions with eminent personalities and achievers.

“It was great to have a young achiever to share her ideas, life experiences and dreams with us. Arushi, who is proud of her Indian heritage, is a source of inspiration for thousands of poor women and others. At present, Arushi connects with thousands of people through the Sparsh Ganga campaign to promote awareness of Ganga and its biodiversity,” said social and cultural activist, Sundeep Bhutoria, Trustee, Prabha Khaitan Foundation.

Arushi, who has authored two books and also produced a regional film Major Nirala on the Indian Army, is now interested in big banner Bollywood projects, “Yes! I am in talks with some big directors and producers for OTT platform projects for two or three web series. I am thankful to Prasun Joshi for support. I hope to make an announcement soon,” she said.

Arushi, the chairperson of Himalaya Ayurvedic Medical College & Hospital in Dehradun. She has chaired the International Environment Summit (IES) and spearheads the Sparsh Ganga Foundation, an NGO promoting environmental awareness, sustainable development, women empowerment, water conservation and cleaning river Ganga and other water bodies. The Government of India has recognised volunteers of the Sparsh Ganga campaign as “Ganga Heroes”.

Arushi started a environmental awareness project “Beautiful Valley” in 2009 and drew in the support of the Dalai Lama and Hema Malini, MP, and others. Her father, Ramesh Pokhriyal, the Hon’ble Education Minister of India, is a great source of inspiration.

A votary of circular economy and the live wire behind Sparsh Ganga’s various social initiatives, Arushi has trained and engaged over 800 rural women to be gainfully employed for making masks, incense sticks from waste flowers and environmental-friendly biodegradable jute bags as substitute for plastic. A classical Kathak exponent, Arushi has performed in over 15 countries. Her Kathak ballet “Ganga Avataran” has been much appreciated the world over. “The ballet gave me an opportunity to fuse my two passions – environmental awareness and dance,” she said.

Replying to a question “What can we do from our homes during covid times to support the environment?” Arushi said, “First we should keep our families and the country safe by staying indoors and by maintaining social distance protocols. Second we should conserve water. There is a water crisis looming over 22 cities in the country. About 70 per cent of water used is wasted which we should find ways of conserving and utilising in a proper way like watering plants and so on.”

The nationwide lockdown, being observed since March 2020 to control virus spread, is causing restlessness among countrymen. Actress Bidita Bag supports famous fashion photographer Somsubhro Sarkaar’s concept through an unique video named ‘Pandemic’ to celebrate 73rd I-DAY and pay tribute to the nation which is fighting a pandemic situation.

Bidita Bag took to her Instagram account to share the message, which read, “A Pandemic. A Lockdown. Life upturned. Humanitarian crisis. A feeling of being caged. Switch from physical to virtual. Uncertainties all around. The collapse of the expected. Yet, from the ashes rise a breed of heroes. The resilience of the human persists, defying all odds.”

The video begins showcasing various struggles faced by human beings during the pandemic. Famous fashion photographer Somsubhro Sarkaar conceptualized and executed the whole shoot. Somsubhro with the help of Anshul R Gupta, popular film editor, and sound engineer Shaikh Mehboob executed this video. Talking about the video, Som Says, “The immense physical, psychological, social and virtual changes, struggles faced by human beings gave me the idea. Further discussions on the thoughts with multidimensional actor Bidita Bag gave it a structure.”

The collective Indian psyche, obstacles, and unsurpassable courage unfolded in poetry by Rachita Chauhan who penned a long note to go along with the video. Rachita said, “We are living in a wartime situation. A war against COVID. Unpredictability looms large. We stand face to face with our mortality. However, we are also witnessing stories of unsurpassable courage and dedication to duty. Humanity today stands in unison.”

Rima Mishra, founder of Media Tribe who agreed to help spread the video online adds, “No one can stop Somsubhro Sarkaar from creating magic. Even during the pandemic he and Bidita worked hard to shoot this very creative pandemic video. Resilience helps us survive and fight the disease better is what Rachita tells us through her poem. We should reassure ourselves that normalcy will return.”

Government Should Give Official Recognition To Indian Sign Language (ISL) – Vaibhav Kothari...

15 August 2020, Kolkata: India, with over 1.3 million deaf and mute citizens, should make the Indian Sign Language (ISL) the 23^rd official language under the Indian Constitution said Vaibhav Kothari, a deaf and mute entrepreneur, engineer and motivational speaker at a webinar – Winning Challenges – hosted by Kolkata-based social and cultural activist Sundeep Bhutoria. Vaibhav, who was the guest speaker, used sign language and an interpreter to communicate with those who joined in from different parts of the world.

Vaibhav’s fervent appeal to the Indian Government came in response to a question posed by conversationalist Sundeep Bhutoria  – “How important do you think it is to promote the Indian Sign Language (ISL) by incorporating it in the list of existing 22 Scheduled Languages under the Constitution of India?

Vaibhav called upon the Government to listen to its millions of deaf and mute citizens and empower them by promoting the Indian Sign Language (ISL) to gain higher education and effectively contribute to the nation building. “Just as India promotes and preserves our ancient Sanskrit language, which is one of the 22 scheduled languages under the Indian Constitution, there is a need to incorporate the newly-evolved Indian Sign Language (ISL) into the list of scheduled languages. This would immensely empower millions of Indians suffering from hearing impairment to achieve higher education and catch up on missed opportunities,” Vaibhav said.

Lauding the New Education Policy for taking cognizance of the sign language Vaibhav said that individuals and organisations have been fighting for this for over thirty years. Vaibhav fully endorsed the suggestion of conversationalist Sundeep Bhutoria that one Parliamentary seat should be reserved for a deaf person to articulate and represent the demands of their world or the “deaf eco-system”.

Sign languages are full-fledged natural languages with their own grammar and lexicon. Though home to one of the largest numbers of hearing impaired population, India still does not have a formally recognized sign language under the Constitution. As per the 2011 Indian Census there are 1.3 million people with hearing impairment but on the other hand the India’s National Association of the Deaf estimates that 18 million people or close to 1 per cent of the Indian population are deaf or suffer from hearing loss.

“India’s hearing impaired community have faced immense difficulties during the corona virus lockdown unable to access notices, clarifications or call helplines. Under the new online education system, deaf children are unable to study as most parents don’t know the Indian Sign Language (ISL). The Indian Government had set up the Indian Sign Language Research & Training Centre in New Delhi in 2015. In March 2018 the first Indian Sign Language dictionary was launched. India now has its own sign language in place. There are over 130 sign languages in the world with different countries evolving their own system. 

Vaibhav Kothari’s life is an ordinary boy’s extraordinary achievement. He learned the American Sign Language (ASL) and got his MBA and engineering degrees from the United States. He is a successful entrepreneur spearheading his family business Om Metals Infra Projects and Om International LLC. He has also directed a short film highlighting the plight of the deaf.

Higher education remains a major roadblock for the hearing impaired in India since very few colleges and institutions avail interpreters or lecturers who can teach in sign language. The students thus have to turn to other sources which most cannot afford. According to the Persons with Disability Act 1995, one per cent jobs in government and private agencies are reserved for them. But those jobs have conditions like having degree certificates from known universities across India.

Sundeep Bhutoria, a Kolkata-based social and cultural activist, author, columnist and blogger who has successfully campaigned with the Government to change policies that inconvenienced parents to take their infants to the passport office; or very recently to save the childhood of kindergarteners from the onslaught of online classes. His appeal to the Prime Minister to provide support to the folk artistes and craftsmen of India facing immense hardship due to Covid 19 pandemic prompted swift action by the Government to enlist those craftsmen who were earlier left out.

Request To Honble Prime Minister vide letter dated 14.04. 2019 By Dr Santosh Kumar Bagla...

Dr. Santosh Kumar Bagla has represented and put the complaint to the Honble Prime Minister vide letter dated 14.04. 2019, that the DIU/NDD Mandir Marg of Delhi Police is not taking appropriate actions in the FIR 0120/2019 which was registered on 19.10.2019 with various documents and evidences. Kotak Mahindra is managing the system and no actions has been taken against them.

It is to be noted that earlier also the Prime Minister office has instructed the Banking Secretary and RBI to take necessary actions against Kotak Mahindra bank and like this The President,  The Vice President and various higher authorities had also sought actions against Uday Suresh Kotak and others but since the Kotak has managed the system and manipulated so no actions has been taken. Dr. Bagla has been harassed through their henchmen so he had to be shifted from Mumbai to Delhi and then to Kolkata. All these narrated by him to Prime Minister. On examining the Prime Minister office directly instructed to the office of Dr. Eish Singhal, the DCP of New Delhi District who is in charge of DIU unit to take appropriate actions arrest the accused.

The Magistrate in whose direction the FIR was lodged and but the Delhi police has ignored the direction.  Dr. Santosh Kumar bagla said that since he was not well and stucked for three months as was hospitalized since 2 months and now totally recovered and shall take up all these again to higher authorities and to the Hon’ble Police Commissioner of Delhi to monitor and expedite the investigation and instruct the concern DCP office for actions.

Manipulative Reply By Kotak To SEBI – BSE And NSE Dated 05-03-2020 On The Letter Dated 26-11-2019 Addressed By Dr Santosh Kumar Bagla...

Dr. Santosh Kumar Bagla informed to various higher authorities informing about the registration of FIR as per Judicial order on 14.10.2019 against Kotak Mahindra Bank, Mr. Uday Suresh Kotak, Mr. Anand Mahindra and their various officials/executive, which was sent to Reserve Bank of India, National Stock Exchange of India, Bombay Stock Exchange and Securities and Exchange Board of India. It had all details of Frauds and Cheating done by Kotak Mahindra Bank.

On the said information National Stock Exchange of India asked Kotak Mahindra Bank to clarify and explain to which the bank had replied vide letter dated 05.03.2020 to National Stock Exchange of India with very vague and Manipulating the facts,  the National Stock Exchange of India has forwarded the said letter to Dr Bagla for reference and comments.

The said reply was sent by the Kotak Mahindra Bank on receipt of the letter dated 10.12.2019 addressed by the Officer-In – Charge of National Stock Exchange of India Limited enclosing therewith the copy of the above captioned letter dated 26.11.2019 addressed by Dr. Santosh Kumar Bagla. 

Dr. Bagla has replied the said letter and pointed out that how the bank has wrongly replied with vague, Manipulative and twisted facts. He has sent various documents, evidences and court orders etc .He further informed National Stock Exchange of India to form a SIT for detailed enquiry as they are custodian of the Investors hard earned money and if any of their member are involved in any criminality and FIR registered than their duty to cancel their license of membership and also inform by the Public Notice about their frauds. Dr. Bagla offered that if National Stock Exchange of India desire he would send representative to their committee with all the documents to satisfy.

I used to sing in every functions and also done lots of play in college and schools. I was at the age of 8, when first time I  sand in front of school in a cultural fest program. It was my first time, but I was confident.  I was found of movies and attempt to copy acting standing in front of mirror.  After completing my studies, I already become perfect in role play. In college days, I use to be the head of stage shows. My interest took me Delhi, and from there, I have started modelling, afterwards I went to Mumbai(city of dreams). As I grow older, I used to give the greater part of time in learning the skills and achieve my fantasy.

I was in college when I came to know about the Martial art. I participated in  several competition and selected for national  and took bronze medal in it. Participating in this activity was a boost to my acting career and I was stimulated for my dreams.

My family is always a constant support to my career. They always encouraged me to stay motivated and helped me lot  in getting success & making my dream come true..

मुंबई। कजरी महोत्सव के तहत वर्चुअल कजरी की शुरुआत हो चुकी है। उत्तर भारत में बेहद लोकप्रिय लोकगीत कजरी को ऑनलाइन भी लाखों की संख्या में लोग देख सुन रहे हैं। कोरोना संक्रमण के चलते इस साल कजरी महोत्सव का आयोजन ऑनलाइन किया जा रहा है। मुंबई बीजेपी के महामंत्री अमरजीत मिश्र की संस्था अभियान पिछ्ले ड़ेढ़ दशक से कजरी महोत्सव का आयोजन कर रही है।इस साल वर्चुअल कजरी महोत्सव का सोशल मीडिया पर सीधा प्रसारण हो रहा है। गायिका संध्या मिश्रा ने जब  प्रसिद्ध कजरी ‘मिर्जापुर कईले गुलजार हो, कचौड़ी गली सून कइला बलमू’ की तान छेड़ी तो

कालीन विधान सभा की ओर से 5 अगस्त को होने वाले कजरी महोत्सव 2020,के आयोजक संभु सिंह समेत तमाम कार्यकर्ता और व पदाधिकारी दर्शक झुमने पर मजबूर हो गये |

.With this idea Amarcine conducted their beauty pageant IAWA MRS INDIA 2020 with Quarantine Queen 2020 successfully online virtually. While most of the beauty pageants have got canceled this year owing to the coronavirus pandemic.

IAWA had put the entry process online to make it as easy as possible to reach more contestants through out the country. There was no regional auditions, no travel. This was hugely successful where in they received a record number of entries than last year.

Despite the lockdown that the country is observing currently, they moved forward to Organise the first ever VIRTUAL PAGEANT online IAWA MRS INDIA 2020 and QUARANTINE QUEEN 2020 and made it an entertaining event for everyone. Contestants were trained not like a typical pageant contestant, instead, they were trained to become women’s rights champions and savvy career women with 13 days online grooming in various sectors.

IAWA (Innovative Artist Welfare Association), organization is already working for women empowerment and their development since last 8 years in India and abroad. It is one of the world’s first online beauty pageant for Indian women namely IAWA Mrs. India 2020 and IAWA Mrs. India Quarantine Queen 2020 during this corona lockdown time. There were total 600 entries for the contests form each and every part of India. After passing through various challenges only 20 lucky women get selected for finale. During those 20 finalists .Finale was held online on 2nd august. It was a 13 days celebration where all these finalist were so busy in this pandamic, when the whole world was moving towards stress but IAWA engaged them on working for 12 different task on Covid 19, domestic violence, save girl child, breast and cervix cancer, fashion, cooking etc.

This competition was live broadcasted by facebook in entire world. Each and every stage of this contest was live international.The event was judged by Mubarkka Lokhandwala a social activist and multitasking queen, Pankaj Raina a actor/singer and Harjeet Anand Governer Aid Rotary Club. All 13 videos were judged by Konika Khuraijam from Imphal, Leena Honakari from Karnataka and Dr VV Manjula from Andhra Pradesh.These contestant’s were trained by Dr Daljeet Kaur continued with many guest lectures on motivational speaker, makeup expert, skin care etc. Winners were felicitated with a diamond pendant by FOCE and other Gifts were sponsored by JOVEES, LOOKSHERBAL, Da picani, Ayurvita.

Maya kuki won QUARANTINE QUEEN 2020 with the highest votes online from Jharkhand.1st Runner in quarantine queen Babycha Achumi from Imphal and 2 nd Runner khyati from Gujrat.

The next web series ‘Line of Fire’ comprises of two seasons and once again boasts of superstars such as Prakash Raj, Jimmy Shergill, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, Tanuj Virwani, Vijay Raaz, Tannishtha Chatterjee, Kabir Singh, Sana Saeed, Manu Rishi and Tanvi Azmi.

Moreover, Dubai’s leading 5-star fashion hotel, Palazzo Versace, Jaddaf Waterfront has come onboard as Hospitality Partner and would be playing host to the Bollywood stars and crew of the series for the entire duration of their stay while some parts of the series may also be shot at this luxurious property.

Welcoming the collaboration with Gaurang Doshi Productions, Monther Darwish, Managing Director, Palazzo Versace, Jaddaf Waterfront, Dubai said, “It would be a great pleasure for us to host the Bollywood stars and team of the web series at our luxury property and we are truly looking forward to be their host for the next 8-months”.

The entire cast and crew for both the web series consist of over 100 members while the illustrious crew of 7^th Sense also features prominent actors like Elli AvrRam, Aashim Gulati, Sana Saeed, Ahsaas Channa, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Sajjad DelaFrooz and Manuj Sharma alongside the big stars.

‘7^th Sense’ is being directed by Karan Darra, the story and screenplay is by Gibran Noorani whereas Nagaraj Rathinam  is the Director of Photography, Sandeep Shelar is the Production Designer  and Charan Pathania will give the music and the background scores .The prep work for second web series, ‘Line of Fire’, the espionage fast-paced action thriller, will also begin simultaneously with that of ‘7^th Sense’.

The big budget web series are produced under the patronage of His Excellency Suhail Mohd. Al Zarooni,an Emirati businessman,Guinness World Record holder and Ambassador at Large, Dubai.

Furthermore, Madhu Bhandari is the co-producer; Amey D. Nargolkar and Munir Awan are the associate producers, whereas Parag Parekh and Ronak are the financial advisors for both the web series.

Former Samajwadi Party leader and sitting Rajya Sabha MP AMAR SINGH has passed away in Singapore...

He was 64 and had been hospitalised for a long time. Amar Singh was born on January 27, 1956, in Aligarh district of Uttar Pradesh.

He was an alumnus of the of St. Xavier’s College and University College of Law, Kolkata from where he earned his LLB.

Amar Singh had been battling health issues for several years. In 2015, he was once rushed to the Fortis Hospital in New Delhi after he complained of uneasiness and had complained of pain. He had been hospitalised in Singapore at least since March this year. In March, Amar singh rubbished rumours about his deaths with a video tweet saying ‘Tiger zinda hai’ and though “well wishers” want him dead, he is alive, awaiting surgery.

Amar Singh, a sitting Rajya Sabha MP, had been facing health-related issues for over a decade and had undergone a kidney transplant. He will be rembered for ever as leader and well being person for years to come.

30^th July 2020, Mumbai, India: Gaurang Doshi Productions announces that Ameesha Patel, Prateik Babbar and Swedish-Greek actress Elli AvrRam are the latest additions to the already star-studded cast of the new ‘7^th Sense’ web series.

The talented trio now join the superstars’ crew, consisting of R Madhavan, Ronit Roy, Chunky Pandey, Tanuj Virwani, Aashim Gulati, Sana Saeed, Ahsaas Channa, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Sajjad Dela Frooz and Manuj Sharma.

Last month, Gaurang Doshi, the eminent Bollywood producer, had revealed his debut into the world of digital entertainment with the launch of two web series, ‘7^th Sense’ and ‘Line of Fire’.

The big budget web series are being produced under the patronage of His Excellency Suhail Mohd. Al Zarooni, an Emirati businessman, Guinness World Record holder and Ambassador at Large, Dubai, and will be filmed in the UAE.

“With stars like Ameesha Patel and Prateik Babbar joining the crew of ‘7^th Sense’, I can only say that the action will get more exciting. I have always believed in creating larger-than-life canvases and with the biggest star cast ever featured in any web series so far, we are here to create a magnum-opus.

“Audiences will be enthralled with the spectacular locales, gripping storylines, fascinating plot and glamorous sets presented in the intriguing murder mysteries,” said Gaurang Doshi.

“We are in the final stages of the visa and permission process and plan to start the filming for ‘7^th Sense’, the first web series in August. Moreover, around 15 crew members consisting of technical team and directors arrive in UAE on the morning of 1^st August by Emirates Airlines. Shooting for Season 1 and 2 will be completed in about 140 days, with most of the action happening in Dubai and Abu Dhabi,” added Doshi.

Commenting on the web series, actress Ameesha Patel said: “I am extremely excited to make my debut in a web series, with such a wonderful concept and content, and am equally excited to start the web series in the UAE, a country that I am so fond of and visit very often.

“I love the people, the culture, the food, the glamorous and larger-than-life locations which are going to make the web series even more thrilling. It certainly feels great to start working after being in lockdown for four months, she added.

On collaborating with Gaurang Doshi, Ameesha said: “Gaurang and I have wanted to associate together on films in the past but somehow that didn’t happen. Now that I have got this opportunity, I am glad to be making my web series debut with a good friend and an even better producer. Gaurang always mounts his Bollywood film on a huge canvas and I am sure this time too he will not leave any stone unturned and will do his best to make his mark in digital entertainment too.”

Speaking excitedly about getting back to shooting, Prateik Babbar said, “I feel blessed to be shooting again and salute Gaurang for making this project happen. The audience should expect the unexpected, a wild roller-coaster ride and my character will make the ride wilder, so buckle up”.

Elli AvrRam, the Swedish-Greek actress based in Mumbai, said:“I don’t really know how to express in words how excited I am to get back to a set, to step into a character and just live that character, be that character and just shoot.

“The moment I knew that this project is being produced by Gaurang Sir, I mean I already knew it’s a brilliant script because he is that one producer who is extremely choosy and he has that brilliant eye for what is great. I feel so blessed and grateful that Sir is putting his belief in me, for letting me be a part of this show.

“That really means a lot to me and I will do my best to make him proud and hopefully, we will work on many more projects together,” added Elli AvrRam, who is well known for the Bollywood movie ‘Micky Virus’ and her participation in the realty TV show, ‘Big Boss’.

‘7^th Sense’ is a crime thriller/murder mystery that promises to keep viewers on the edge of their seats with its gripping plot and well executed screenplay.

Dr Abdul Rehman Vanoo Helps Daily Workers In Bollywood With Necessities...

Dr Abdul Rehman Vanoo,  is elected as Hon. General Secretary of   Dadasaheb Phalke Film Foundation,he is a man of integrity, hard work and excellence. He always had a vision to uplift and upgrade the technicians of hindi film industry and he has taken huge efforts in that direction.

We all know how the lockdown and the pandemic has proved to be very tough for the daily wage workers, specially technicians in the film world. Dr Vanoo was responsible for sending daily essentials and money to the needy during this period even in the outskirts of Mumbai areas like Virar and Palghar. He said, “The industry is not filled with just actors, producers, writers and directors. While the spotlight is always on them in most award functions, we feel that the technicians including spotboys, cameramen and lakhs of people who work for their daily wages on the sets are also contributing to making a film and the final product. So, we made sure that they do not suffer during this period. We supplied daily essentials to them in various parts of Mumbai.”

Dr Vanoo has also helped the Mumbai Police and provided them with essentials during the lockdown. The Mumbai Police had set up a quarantine centre in Kalina, Santacruz and Dr Vanoo helped in providing many services to them. Borivali, Dharavi and many other areas have been provided with daily essentials by Dr Vanoo’s organisation. He said, “Many people lost their jobs and we decided to give them work and food. And this was not only restricted to Mumbai. We provided these facilities and daily essentials to Delhi, Pune and many other cities in India. We also researched on how people deal with mental health during the lockdown. And in addition, we also continue to maintain healthcare facilities and providing jobs to daily wage workers. The government is also giving us good support.”
       

The daily wage workers of Dadasaheb Foundation were also badly affected. Dr Vanoo said, “We took a huge list of addresses of these workers and provided them with food, daily essentials, groceries and medical support to the entire staff. Nalasopara, Mira Road and many others areas, we transported daily essential services. Since we were working with Mumbai Police, we had a pass to travel to different areas and therefore, a big thanks to the Police department, since we could use this pass in helping others.”

In addition, Dr Vanoo is also working towards uplifting and upgrading the skills of these technicians. He said, “Most of these workers have come to the city to earn their daily bread. They are not educated. So, we motivate them to study further and make them self-reliant. We also encourage them to learn special skills, which in turn would help them in the filmmaking process. I feel this is important for the people of our country and the film industry.”
