Real Boxing champions to act in Hindi Film ‘V’ with Sudip Pandey...

Films revolving on all kinds of sports have been made since the era of silent films, such as the 1915 film, “The Champion” starring Charlie Chaplin. When you scroll down the rosters of the past be it in Hollywood, Bollywood or Regional films in this genre can range from a serious to silly and a classic theme. Sports movies tend to keep a warm seat at the ticket windows as well bag awards too.

Hollywood films like “The Karate Kid”, “Rocky” series, “Chariots Of Fire” or “Raging Bull”amongst others have kept the box-office ringing.Bollwood films like “Lagaan”, “Chak De! India”, “Bhaag Milkha Bhaag”, “Mary Kom”, etc. were all super hit films.

Now taking a leaf from the same book is the Bhojpuri super hit action hero Sudip Pandey. He is making his Hindi debut with a film titled as “V” being made under the banner of Entity One. Directed by Sanjay Amar with Sanjeev-Darshan providing the musical score, the film revolves around boxing. Sharing the screen space with Sudip Pandey is real boxing champions, Dharmendra Yadav and Vikas Krishnan. Excitedly speaking about his role, Sudip Pandey says, “Films revolving in sports have always gone well with all kinds of audiences. To play this kind of role is really challenging and testing too. Working with real boxing champions, Dharmendra Yadav and Vikas Krishnan has really augmented my enthusiasm to double folds. “V” means Victor and thus we are putting full steam to make it lively on the silver screen.”

Bollywood ace choreographer Sandip Soparrkar took initiative to spread awareness about “Save our Peacock”. Sandip Soparrkar along with his beautiful supermodel dance partner and his talented team performed on the theme of “Save our National bird Peacock” at opening ceremony of the 14th edition of Mumbai International Film Festival (MIFF) which began on Thursday at the Ravindra Natya Mandir, in presence of honourable  Chief Minister of Maharashtra Mr. Devendra Fadnavis, Honourable Minister of State of Information and Broadcasting Col. The performance began with Sandip playing the evil hunter, Jesse waltzed in and stole the show dressed as the gorgeous peacock who is captured and then forcefully made to perform at a bird show and later killed for its feathers only to be having fans made out of it for yet another show. At the end Sandip presented a very emotional scene of the evil hunter’s daughter requesting him to show her a live Dancing Peacock. That is when he apologies to one and all for the numerous mistake he had made as a evil hunter. Each and everyone present at the ceremony praised the wonderful concept and initiative that Sandip, Jesse and their team took through this 25 min dance drama.

At the occasion Sandip Soparrkar said, “Jesse and me feel extremely honoured to dance at the opening ceremony of 14th MIFF, dancing a beautiful theme dance about safety of Peacock, in front of so many eminent personalities makes us feel humbled. I am glad as an artist I can not just entertain but even educate.”

Actor Aman Verma hosted this beautiful evening of international dignitaries. At the ceremony Mr. Naresh Bedi a renowned film maker was presented with the Dr. V Shantaram Lifetime Achievement Award for his contribution to the world of documentary filmmaking.

National award winning director Hansal Mehta has wooed international film lovers with his sensitive film ‘Aligarh’. At its trailer launch here in Mumbai, it’s focus on awakening awareness for an individual’s choice and right to privacy connected with the media & the audience.

With the film’s cast & crew, lead actor Manoj Bajpayee, Rajkummar Rao & writer-editor Apurva Asrani, attending the trailer launch, the impact of ‘Aligarh’ was there for all to see. Set in a small town in Uttar Pradesh from which the film takes its name, ‘Aligarh’ is the story of a professor, Dr. S R Siras (Manoj Bajpayee) fired from his position for his sexuality and a young journalist, Deepu Sebastian (Rajkummar Rao) who tells his story to the world. And when asked about Moral policing, should Censor limit its conditions, as Manoj Bajpai said we should not have only censor limitations.

Kapil Sharma replied, “Censorship should be there. But there should be no deletions of shots. It should be grading of the film.”

Recalling the ‘Aligarh’ journey so far, Mehta said, “The overwhelming reception to ‘Aligarh’ at film festivals tells us that we’ve done something right! With its trailer now available online, we want Indian audiences to see, first hand, the impact of social exclusion. Film is a powerful medium & the story of ‘Aligarh’ needs to be told. Interestingly, Rauf was out on Parole and had fled to Bangladesh and was in their prisons for staying their without legal papers. ‘Mumbai Media Champs’ – the lively three-day inter-collegiate festival of Deviprasad Goenka Management College of Media Studies (DGMCMS), Malad (W), Mumbai got off to a spectacular start amidst thunderous cheers & glitter on 25^th January 2016, with well-known film director Bejoy Nambiar, who was the Chief Guest, and popular actor Samir Soni, who was the Guest of Honor, releasing balloons and declaring the event open.

Day one had twelve thrilling events, which were judged by eminent media personalities like Shri Shanti Bhushan, Shri Bharat Ranga, Mr George Sebastian and Ms Runa Ashish, among others.Day two saw another round of twelve enchanting events, with more media personalities like Shri Faridoon Shahryar, Ms Mansi Dhanak, Ms Rekha Rao and Shri Rohit Sobti, who judged the various competitions.

One of the most glittering moments of Day 2 was when Navaldeep Singh from S K Somaiya College was crowned “Mr. MMC”, and Nidhi Kini from Lords’ Universal College was crowned “Miss. MMC”.

The 32^nd annual function of the Film Studious Setting and Allied Mazdoor Union was held for their union members on January 26 at Bangur Nagar ground, Goregaon (West), Mumbai,where their Chairman and BJP MLA Ram Kadam and General Secretary Gangeshwarlal Shrivastava (Sanju) delighted thousands of members and filled the rafter of the Union with an evening that provided serious insight into their welfare policies for the workers. Led by the Chairman, elected annually, the Union acts as a channel of communication between the worker and the film bodies. In addition, the Union acts as a point of contact between the workers and relevant external bodies.

The evening began with the National Anthem sung by the guests, lighting of diyas and bursting crackers. Each guest on stage was honoured with ‘Pheta’ (Pagadi) and welcomed with the sound of biguls. Addressing a jam-packed crowd featuring more than 45,000 Labours and other allied members, the Chairman and BJP MLA Ram Kadam said, “The stages, sets for films featuring big stars like Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan and others is erected by our workers painstakingly, who take care of every single nail. A little failure from their end can collapse down the whole stage/set. Thus we should respect every category of workers.”

General Secretary Gangeshwarlal Shrivastava says, “We craft welfare for our members including Marriage Funds, Medical Funds, Retirement Pension, Education Fund and other facilities.”

2B!  India,’s First public program SELFIE WITH POLICE “Care of the Caretaker” took a great start on 26th January 2016, at Oshiwara Police Station with near about hundreds of  people clicking selfiee and showing their support.

on the eve of Republic Day after flag hosting, everyone were  seeing  getting Selfie  clicked with Police. Shweta Rohira CEO of 2B!  India was overwhelmed by response of people who were coming themselves to get clicked. It is an awareness drive to strengthen Police Public Relationship.

Previously the event was supposed to be held at Shivaji Park, but being a sensitive high alert zone, the venue for the program was shifted to Oshiwara Police Station

India said  when she saw that at midnight, police were checking youngsters whether they were drunken or not, and the police were doing there work to check  the youngsters , the response  of the youngsters were rude reactions, this incident gave her a thought to start a mission where a relation has to be buil between Police-Public, so that a healthy safe society is created.

Padma Bhushan Jagjit Singh had it not just in his voice, but in his soul. That’s why his music touched the whole universe. Although he is physically not present among us today, but his mesmerizing voice still lingers in our hearts and minds with the same charisma.

Year 2016 happens to be the 75th Birthday of the maestro Jagjit Singh. To make the celebrations grand for this Platinum Jubilee, a two day music festival has been announced.

DAY 1 – 7^th Feb. 2016

Young ghazal singers will be invited from all over India by virtue of their recordings. The registrations have started. A total of 75 ghazals of Jagjit Singh will be sung. At the end of the day session all the participants will be honoured by the Smt. Chitra Singh and they will be given certificates from Jagjit Singh foundation.

This will lead to enormous enthusiasm among young Ghazal singers to take up ghazal as art form and spread it around the world.

DAY 2 – 8^th Feb. 2016

Day 2 will be the Grand Celebration in the form of ‘Jagjit Singh Musical Festival’ attended by who’s who of the music fraternity. This will be a public event featuring performances by legends. The line up includesDeepak Pandit and Ranjit Barot giving a musical invocation of 10 minutes to the commencement of the festival, followed by Ghazal Maestro Shri Hari Haran regaining the audience for 45 minutes with his own unique ghazals and then Shri Suresh Wadkar and Shri Sonu Nigam would give unique rendition of Jagjit ji’s compositions in their own imitable style to relive the memories of maestro’s real music.

The second half will showcase a unique combination titled “Tridhara” which will premier on the occasion.  This will feature three streams of art namely Taal Sur & Nritya together  featuring Padma Bhusan Ustad Zakir Hussain, Padma Vibhusan Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia and Padma Vibhusan Pandit Birju Maharaj.

A- listers from the film fraternity also arrived to convey their wishes and congratulate the couple.

The talented actress, who was lauded for her performance in the blockbuster movie ‘Baahubali: The Beginning’, is all prepared to don a completely distinctive avatar for her upcoming Tamil Movie ‘Dharma Durai’. The gorgeous diva would be starring opposite the prominent southern actor Vijay Sethupathi and will be directed by the national award winner Seenu Ramasamy.

Filmmaker Shivam Nair makes a surprise visit to the sets of ‘Main Khudiram Bose Hun’‏...

On a chilly Sunday, the team of patriotic film ‘Main Khudiram Bose Hun’ was in for a surprise as acclaimed filmmaker Shivam Nair visited the sets in Mumbai.  The ‘Bhaag Johnny’ director gave his best wishes for the film and was very impressed with the storyline. Shivam Nair was curious to know more about this lesser know patriotic leader – Khudiram Bose.

Bhanu Prakash Jha was directing a very crucial scene with actors Rituparna Sen Gupta, Imran Hasnee, Kanishk Kumar Jain, Sushant Sahni and Roopa Ganguli. Writer Dhiraj Mishra and producer Ashok Sahni were also present on the sets.

This was a part of a three-day schedule in Mumbai which ended on 18th January 2016. Other important film sequences will also be shot in Mumbai and other locations.

Actress Rituparna Sen Gupta was quoted, “I am very privileged to be a part of this film as my role is the inspiration behind Khudiram Bose’s great sacrifice for the country. My role of Aprupa Devi is full of passion, sacrifice and most importantly love. I doubt whether people know about this martyr and hence I agreed to play the role.”

Main Khudiram Bose Hun is a film about Midnapur born Khudiram Bose who was hanged at the age of 18. Khudiram, a teenage student became a martyr by walking on the path of revolution. This freedom fighter would plant bombs near police stations and attack government officials. Eventually, he was arrested on the charges of conducting a series of bomb attacks. The specific bombing for which he was sentenced to death resulted in the deaths of 3 persons.The story is written by Dhiraj Mishra, Directed by Bhanuprakash Jha , Music by Bapi Tutul. And Producer by Ashok Sahni. To help participants understand the importance of healthy communicative relationship between society and law enforcement agencies .

A step to create awareness in kids and youngsters of society ,the importance of police and policing. Last but not the least building Police image to strengthen Police – Public relationships. This starts on Republic day i.e on 26th January 2016 at Shivaji Park (Police Parade Ground) Dadar. It will also take place in 50  other locations across Mumbai, like in shopping malls, traffic signal, railway stations, school, colleges & police stations.

“#SelfieWithPolice” is organized by 2B! India, an initiative step taken by Shweta Rohira,. She has the required  support coming from the  police department The police  are also participating and supporting this initiative by along with common public. Selfie standees will be placed where volunteers will be helping public to have selfie with police, which will be uploaded on various social media like websites, facebook, twitter, pinterest & instagram, radio, print etc. Approximately having 1.7 Million viewership. Many Bollywood personalities are also supporting this step initiative .

Yajnesh Shetty honored in USA by US’s Mayor

The martial expert Chitah Yajnesh Shetty and the chairman of Chitah Jeet Kune Do Global Sports Federation have added yet another feather to his overcrowded cap. Sifu Cosmo Zimik, the President of “Empty Hand Combat International”, had invited the world famous grandmaster to America to honour him for his valuable contributions to ‘human welfare’ in martial arts.  Of late, a huge function was held at Nampa, the largest city of Canyon County, Idaho, U.S.A, whereby Yajnesh Shetty was honoured by former Mayor Tom Dale. Earlier he was inducted into the “United States Martial Arts Hall of Fame 2014”  and  “Sri Lankan Traditional Indigenous Martial Arts Association” (STIMA) and the first Indian to have receive the honours at ‘Stima Award Of Honourable Mission 2014’.

Yajnesh Shetty has been teaching martial arts for school children, women, senior citizens since ages.
