This year Lohri was extremely special to us as it was my first Lohri after marriage. We kept it small with with a get-to-gether party celebrations for friends and family. It was a musical Lohri bonfire. We had a punjabi singer coming to perform for us to sing Punjabi Lohri orientated songs. Accompanying him was a Dholwala , who made us dance to some traditional Dhol beats”

The first episode of the season will feature versatile actor Vidya Balan as she steps into the shoes of Manju, Jaipur’s only female porter. Donning the hat of a coolie and moving travellers’ luggage across Jaipur’s Sindhi Camp Bus Stand, Vidya will leverage her star power to raise funds for, single mother and breadwinner, Manju’s benefit. Be it taking tips from Manju on how to effectively carry heavy luggage from one point to another, or inviting Jaipur locals to support her cause, Vidya tries her hand at it all. In fact, the actor will even be seen climbing atop a bus and mingling with the male coolies at the bus stand to ensure that she is able to maximize her one-day time limit and turn messiah for Manju. Commenting on her experience, Vidya said, “I was extremely touched when an old woman who sells combs at the bus station came up to me and appreciated my efforts. She said that she left her customers unattended because she wanted to click a picture with me. She gave me 10 rupees and tons of blessings and it simply made my day. Lohri festival is around the corner and seen are the Bollywood and television celebrities gearing up for the festive day. Punjabis were seen rocking while celebrating the festival Lohri Di Raat with bonfire and great enthusiasm. The ‘Lohri Di Raat’ festival was graced by many celebs from Bollywood like Jeetendra, Ranjeet, Ronit Roy, Pankaj Dheer and Mukesh Rishi. This auspicious festival event was hosted by Shri Charan Singh Sapra, President of NGO Punjabi Cultural Heritage Board. Actor Ranjeet was the first to arrive and was seen enjoying the fabulous traditional songs which were sung by Bollywood Singer Shipra Goyal.
Mr. Sapra spoke about the importance of Lohri fest and how every Punjabi feels connected with it in Mumbai too. PCHB celebrates Lohri every year to promote the Rich Heritage & Culture of Punjab amongst the younger generation here. Actress Sudeepa Singh was looking gorgeous in traditional attire and was seen dancing on the tunes of Punjabi music. She mentioned how she still remembers the Lohri fest memories of her childhood.
Actor Ronit Roy said, “Lohri signals the end of winter and the advent of spring so the celebration reflects warmth”. People were seen gathering round the bonfire throwing sweets, puffed rice and popcorn into the flames, singing popular songs and exchanging greetings with each other.

As always happen when there is HERO there is a VILLAIN. Chhota Bheem and team came to know that they can’t go inside the kingdom because of Hidambak i.e villain of movie. Real Movie starts from there, Children will not stop Laughing.

Malad Festival is spread over for ten days from 25th December 2015 to 3rd January 2016 from5:00 PM to 10:00 PM at Goraswadi Ground, behind Milap PVR cinema, off SV road, Adarsh, Malad (West).

We know an actor with no background or surnames has to traverse a journey after which they make a name for themselves; they don’t have the initial push. As we see now that audiences has been acceptable to wide variety of scripts other than the run of the mill formulas, actors have a chance to showcase their abilities more often and that’s the reason why actors from theatre like: Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Irrfan Khan have built their niche.
Hence more n more actors are being given chances each passing day and industry is supportive too. Likewise a very good talent like Vivaan Shah who’s also from theatre back ground is making his presence felt. Female like Nimrat Kaur again from theatre has a brighter side to look at and is doing well. Another actor from theatre base is being spoken about by many is actress Kavitta Verma who has extensively done theatre. She apparently has just completed shooting for a much talked about film with renowned theatre actors and stars.

Director Abhishek Chaubey and casting director Honey Trehan have a long standing association with Vishal Bhardwaj and Gulzar. They all were together involved in the making of Ishqiya and Dedh Ishqiya which went on to garner a lot of appreciation.
Now when Abhishek Chaubey and Honey Trehan (casting director of films like Omkara, Kaminey, Maqbool etc) are starting a new chapter in their life by foraying into production, both Vishal and Gulzar are coming ahead to be there for both of them during the launch event.
The film titled ‘A Death in the Ganj’ will be the directorial debut of Konkana Sen Sharma starring Vikrant Massey and Kalki Koechlin.
The event which is slated to happen on the 5th of January marks the launch of the film and also the announcement of director turned producer Abhishek Chaubey and casting director turned producer Honey Trehan’s production house.

Mumbai Global Achiever’s Award held with much fanfare A unique award show to honour the achievements of people from different walks of life was held in Mumbai at bhaidas hall, juhu Veteran actor Jeetendra lit the lamp along with Saraswati Devi and kickstarted Mumbai Global Achiever’s Award 2015. Rajkumar Tiwari, Group Editor of Mumbai Global welcomed the audience and said that he has launched this event to start Mobile medical vans for free treatment for poor villagers.
Actors Manoj Joshi, Rajpal Yadav, Arjumman Mughal, Sanchiti Sakat, Yash Sehgal, Harshi Madparia, Anil Rai Mani, Imran Hasni, K. k. Goswami, Marina Kuwar, Dillzan Wadia & Ehsaan Qureshi were presented with awards for their contribution to Indian Cinema.
Journalists Mithilesh Sinha, Parag Chapekar, Anurag Pandey & Chandidutt Shukla, won awards in the field of journalism. Aneel Murarka was felicitated for his immense service to humanitarian causes. other award winners were Richa Gaur, Narendra Telu, Javed Siddiqui,
Raju Tank, Kailash Masoom, Sunil Motwani, Dr. Ajay Mohan Sahay, Mazhar Khan, Musa Khan and Acnhor Saundarya Garg.
Awards were also bestowed upon Honest taxi drivers, Auto Drivers, Dabbawalas, social activist, businessman, doctor, farmer for their commitment in making this world a better society to live in.

The song also salutes our brave soldiers who risk their lives so that we can sleep peacefully and encourages us to protect our freedom. He will soon send its copies to, among other VIPs, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Pranab Mukherjee.

SAAVM Theatre Group’s Family, social and musical Hindi play, ‘Mann Rangiya’ is scheduled to open on 9 January 2016 at Rang Sharda, Bandra (West) at 8.00 PM. Anand Mudra is presenting the play. The writer- director-Music director is Sushil Singh.
Play is inspired by Bharatmuni’s Natyashastra and displays new age feelings of humans. Feelings like anger, fear, and happiness are shown in Eyes. Rangla played by Sushil Singh and Rangli played by Nancy Thakkar go to village fair. Then they go to a Nawab’s palace and see statues with different feelings and they start talking to them with the help of Samay in fictitious manner. Nine stories are told. Mann Rangiya is musical presentation through Drama and poetry with content of emotional and social behavior of human being, it creates an awareness and relationship of conscious and sub conscious mind and its perspective of action-reaction, and it’s a thought provoking social drama.
Sushil Singh, the Founder & Director of SAAVM has been associated with movies and theatre since 25 years. For past 10 years, Saavm has been conducting plays and workshops. Sushil has taught finer aspects of acting to Hrithik Roshan, Arjun Rampal,Mandana Karimi and Fardeen Khan to name a few.
“Human beings are very influenced with the emotions which they are not aware of. Hence they commit crime and fall in love or they do good and bad things. We are trying to portray that in the play,” says Sushil Singh.
The play actors are Sushil Singh, Nancy Thakkar, Pankaj Mishra, Jagdish Bhosle, Rituka Tandon, Madhumita Kumar, Shikha Chhabra, Priya Shrestha, Anuradha Shabadi, Rammnik Maan, Mohammad Mohsin, Abhimanyu Aggarwal, Amith Nirpal, Haider Ali, Sabar Kashyap, Aanand Seth and others. This is the third show of the play in Mumbai. After this, they will perform in cities like Delhi, Lucknow, Allahabad, Bhopal, Indore, Ahmedabad, etc.
