STYLE DECODE OF IRA (AMYRA) FOR TRIP 2

Trip 2 is back with new enteries, destinations and stories. Amyra Dastur plays the role of Ira, she’s Nazia’s (Mallika Dua’s) cousin sister.

She’s really quirky, odd and very independent. Brief was to incorporate a gypsy, wanderer type of style in order to show off the difference between Amyra and the rest of the girls. Even the Indian wear which she wears is more on the gypsy zone, ‘don’t mess with me’ kind of vibe.

Her style is very out there and it’s definitely in the Bohemian zone but as one can see, the prints are mixed and don’t match. It’s meant to show off her rebellious nature.

Again pairing the black boots with the dainty white dress is meant to show off the unconventional sense of Fashion and confidence of the character.  Amyra had to undergo a week of trials until they finally managed to narrow down on the looks.

ZUMBA AT UN HEADQUARTER WITH SPICE BY INDIAN CHOREOGRAPHER VARSHA NAIK...

Zin Varsha Naik of New Jersey was invited by the SPICE Indian club at the United Nations Headquarters in New York to conduct a Zumba fitness session. The “Society for Promotion of Indian Culture and Experience”(SPICE) were excited to organize this fitness event for their UN staff. Ms. Varsha Naik is a dancer, choreographer, entrepreneur and a dance fitness enthusiast who has been a member of Zumba instructor network for the past 4 years. She believes that through dance and fitness we can have an active work life. The initiative from SPICE Club of UN to conduct a Zumba session was very exciting as it was a great opportunity for me to train the staff and encourage them to stay active and healthy, said Varsha.

Varsha along with her co-instructor Zin Sumathy Iyer conducted one hour Zumba session for the UN Staff and is planning to continue the session on a weekly basis.

After their first session, the attendees loved their class and on popular demand, Varsha was invited again to take more sessions. The music choices, easy instructions, and high energy kept the crowd moving.

Along with all the basic moves of Zumba inspired by Latin dance styles like the Merengue, Cumbia, Salsa, Latin-Pop, Reggaeton, Bachata, Samba, and many more Zumba has now added world rhythms that also includes Indian music and dance styles. Knowing the pulse and interest of the audience Zin Varsha Naik made a playlist exclusively for the SPICE Club members that included Indian rhythms and styles like Bhangra with a touch of Bollywood.

It was a great opportunity for the staff to know about this fitness program and stay healthy and active. Varsha believes that such corporate initiative is a positive step towards the wellbeing of the staff and is thankful to the SPICE Club of this opportunity.

Varsha has conducted many corporate fitness events and wants to spread the fitness movement to as many people as possible.
