Nafih Mohammed Naser is the new youth icon for the Indian National Congress. He was brought up in Kasargod district of Kerala, on the 13th of December 1988. Mohammed Naser completed his schooling from Saadiya Senior Secondary school, and he was graduated from PA College, Mangalore, with Bachelor’s in Commerce. He is recently appointed as the Social Media cordinator of the Youth congress, in Bangalore.

Nafih, being a renowned social activist in Bangalore, has participated in many campaigns and rallies related to Anti Drug and other issues to increase awareness among the people about its abuse and harsh effect in society. IFTPC – CINTAA – FWICE Resolve Issues For Shoots To Commence...

IFTPC, CINTAA and FWICE have today amicably resolved the outstanding issues which paved the way for the immediate resumption of shootings. These understandings were reached in virtual meeting held between IFTPC, FWICE and CINTAA.
IFTPC agreed to provide two sets of insurance coverage i.e Death Cover of 25 lacs due to Covid-19 and also hospitalization cover of Rs. 2 lacs uniformly across all hierarchy of the cast & the crew.  Apart from the insurance, IFTPC also assured that every precautions as per the government’s guidelines will be put in place to ensure utmost safety for the entire cast & crew.
Also a decision was taken to reduce the period of credit for cast and crew from  existing 90 days to 30 days for at least the first three months; mutually negotiated pay cuts without actors facing any sanctions, and continued dialogue with all parties for easing working conditions were also agreed to, without delaying the resumption of shootings.
IFTPC acknowledged the contributions of CINTAA and FWICE who in these extra ordinary situations showed exemplary understanding and maturity in the workers and the national interest.  In total solidarity and bonhomie, the stakeholders IFTPC, CINTAA, FWICE and the Broadcasters announced that the shooting will begin immediately and a new saga will unfold in every household soon.

Quarantea Time With Coconut Theatre!

Coconut Theatre’s Chai-Wai and Rangmanch took up a rather ambitious project during COVID-19. It has been bringing together several award-winning playwrights, directors, actors and technicians and provided students of theatre an opportunity to learn from their seniors through their Facebook Live sessions. Currently, global experts have been added to Coconut Theatre’s repertoire with the coming week seeing Writer-Director David Woods from Australia (22nd June), Actor-Director Glenn Hayden, also from Australia (25th June), Writer-Director Ana Cândida Carneiro from the USA (27th June) and Writer-Director Jeff Baron from the USA (30th June).
“The objective is to provide students of theatre an avenue of learning,” share Rashmin Majithia and and Keyur Sheth of Coconut Theatre.”Of the varied sessions numbering nearly 99, the viewer can choose any.” The 30-minute sessions where the veterans share their craft begin at 6 pm on weekdays and there are two on weekends; 5 pm and 6 pm. Stalwart participants include Makarand Deshpande, Nadira Babbar, Nina Kulkarni, Jayati Bhatia, Himani Shivpuri, Suchitra Pillai, KK Raina and many more.
Ace choreographer Jonathan Hollander from the US, the founder of Battery Dance Company, who has educated students in multiple countries across multiple platforms brought the stage alive on June 18th.
Those who have missed him should not miss David Woods, an acclaimed actor, director and playwright from Australia who is also the co-artistic director of Ridiculusmus, a multi-award-winning theatre company that has been producing seriously funny theatre for over 20 years. He will be the mentor du jour on the 22nd of June.

A similarly seasoned veteran is Glenn Hayden, also from Australia, who is a theatre director and arts facilitator with a 36+ year professional life in the performing arts, who is gracing our screens on June 25th, followed by Ana Cândida Carneiro, an award-winning, published playwright from the USA, on the 27th and Jeff Baron, an American novelist, playwright and screenwriter from the USA on the 30th of June.
“The idea was to revive theatre in our own small way as COVID-19 has brought with it a new normal that is not going away anytime soon,” concludes Keyur Sheth.

Apeksha Films & Music Announces Contest For Fresh Talent...

India, 23 June 2020: Apeksha Films & Music has always aimed to provide platform and support to the fresh talent. As a part of this aim, the company announces ‘AFM Talent Hunt 2020’, a unique contest for playback singers, music composers, video directors as well as models. Crisp Tabla Recital marked the 3rd Webaithak of Pracheen Kala Kendra...

Pracheen Kala Kendra has been one of the pioneers of India to organize regular concerts all over the length and breadth of the country and every baithak and concert or a festival features exciting and extremely talented musicians in a bid to promote the art of Indian Classical Music in an effort to promote the artists and their art and art forms. For several years now, without fail, Pracheen Kala Kendra has been providing a glorious stage for young artists to blossom and veteran/maestros to bless audiences with their performances, hence aiding the flourishment of the world of Indian Classical Music. But in these unprecedented times where social distancing has to be followed to stop the global pandemic’s spread across communities, dedicated listeners and music lovers, critics, learners, and artists need not worry about staying away from our coveted musical Baithaks. Thus, Pracheen Kala Kendra has started their WEBaithak series (Baithaks on the web) for everyone who wanted to feel the warmth of good music healing their souls and giving hope in these trying times.

After completing two successful editions of the weekly baithak which features every Friday at 8 pm sharp on Pracheen Kala Kendra’s Facebook Page and YouTube Channel, the third edition broadcasted LIVE on Friday, 19th June 2020, 8 pm onwards featured  a solo recital by the extremely talented Tabla exponent Sh Pran Gopal Bandopadhyay. Pran Gopal is the son and disciple of the illustrious Tabla maestro of the Benaras Gharana  Pt Ananda Gopal Bandopadyay who has been a trendsetter for the Gharana and the highly coveted Benaras – Baaj in Kolkata.

Beginning with traditional starting point Peshkar, Pran  gradually unfolded alap-like elaboration, crisp kaidas with rhythmic variations, complex parans, gat, rela, tihais — almost all the different idioms of Tabla playing within the frame of the 16-beat cycle of the tala with tricky numerical permutations and combinations. Young percussionist displayed different shades of Tabla playing with superb clarity. He also presented some traditional and  famous  bandishes of his Gharana and compositions of his Guru and father Pt. Ananda Gopal Bandyopadhyay.

वर्षा ऋतूला सुरुवात झाली आणि हा पावसाचा आनंद द्विगुणित करण्यासाठी ‘अपेक्षा म्युझिक’ तर्फे सुद्धा नवीन पाऊसगाणेआले आहे. गझल सम्राट पंकज उधास आणि मधुर आवाजाची गायिका कविता पौडवाल या दोघांच्या स्वरात ‘रंगधनूचा झूला’ हे पाऊसगाणे वर्षाऋतुतील  प्रेम अधिक गहिरे करणार आहे .
