Sharman Joshi’s Film On Graham Staines A True Story That Rattled The Entire World Comes To ShemarooMe Box Office...

Sharman Joshi promises to hook audiences with “Graham Staines, Ek Ankahi Sachai: The Least of These”, all set to release on ShemarooMe Box Office in Hindi from the 28th of August 2020.

Mumbai, 21st August, 2020: Since its much talked about launch, ShemarooMe Box Office has been in the news for all the right reasons. The latest movie joining this streaming platform boasts of many reputed Indian as well as international names. “Graham Staines, Ek Ankahi Sachai: The Least of These” is a globally acclaimed motion picture based on the startling episode where an Australian missionary was brutally murdered along with his two little sons in Odisha, shaking the whole country to its very core.

The Sharman Joshi starrer previously saw a limited release in India as an English film, but ShemarooMe Box Office brings the movie to our audiences in Hindi.  The film marks Sharman’s maiden collaboration with Hollywood artistes such as Stephen Baldwin and Shari Rigby, who essay the role of Graham Staines and his wife Gladys in the movie.

The film has received widespread recognition for not only accurately depicting an unsettling incident, but also sensitively dealing with the subject. The narrative avoids pointing fingers or playing the blame game, spreading the message of “love over hate” even in the darkest of times, just like its titular character. An interesting trivia is that the project has been written in Australia, produced by an Indian-American, with music composed in South Africa while it was shot in India, making it a truly global production.

Excited on his countrymen getting to watch the film in Hindi, lead actor Sharman Joshi shares, “When I had read the script, I immediately knew it was an honest story that must be put out despite being in English, but now that the film premieres on ShemarooMe Box Office in Hindi, there is a much larger base of the audience that will get to experience the struggle of Graham Staines and the horrific crime that occurred in his family’s life. I play Manav Banerjee, a journalist who is conflicted between what is right and wrong, forced to re-examine his duties when faced with an inconvenient truth. This character was etched out to perfection and I relished portraying him.”

Southern star Aditi Chengappa, his co-star in the film has similar views, “It has been a very emotional experience working on this film based on a powerful, and tragic true story. Staines and his family teach us beautifully about true compassion and forgiveness. This story was waiting to be told, and it has been an absolute honour to be part of it. I am so glad it is releasing on a platform as loved as ShemarooMe Box, moreover in Hindi! I hope that it reaches as many hearts as possible, and can’t wait for it’s release on the 28th!.”

Prakash Belawadi, essaying a complex character called Kedar Mishra in the film, says, “It’s a challenge because it’s painful history, and the core issue is alive… and my role in ‘Graham Staines, Ek Ankahi Sachai: The Least of These’, has many shades — dark and uneasy. It was interesting for me to explore this man and his inner compromises, as he also shares the screen with some very talented actors. The movie will leave viewers troubled with unanswered questions which trouble us even today. It will make them think about reconciliation, gratitude and forgiveness, despite the shocking content. I’m looking forward to logging onto ShemarooMe Box Office and seeing the movie on the 28th of August with my family”.

Director Aneesh Daniel shares his two bits, “I wanted to honour Graham Staines in the best way possible and hence decided to produce a movie that documents the incredible change he brought about till his last breath. The fact that it premieres on a credible platform like ShemarooMe Box Office is a true reward to the blood and sweat each one of us invested into the film”.

On the opportunity to join forces with the best of India as well as Hollywood, producer Victor Abraham comments, “Every member of our cast and crew had been picked with the utmost confidence of them enhancing our film, may it be Sharman, Prakash, Stephen or the rest of this team. All these people and their hard work will now reach a much larger number of viewers thanks to ShemarooMe Box Office”. He adds, “With our film screening in Hindi, language is no longer a barrier for people to discover this true story”.

With outstanding performances, stellar direction and an insightful story, Graham Staines, Ek Ankahi Sachai: The Least of These seems certain to win hearts as a film that shows us stark reality but also gives hope.

Graham Staines, Ek Ankahi Sachai: The Least of These, starring Sharman Joshi, Aditi Chengappa, Prakash Belawadi, Stephen Baldwin, and Shari Rigby is directed by Aneesh Daniel and produced by Victor Abraham (Skypass Entertainment). The movie streams on ShemarooMe Box Office on the 28th of August 2020.

Environmentalist Arushi Nishank Spurs Thousands Of Women To Pick Up Sui Dhaga To Make Khadi Masks – Sets Sights On OTT Projects With Bollywood Bigwigs...

21st August 2020, Kolkata: Inspired by the Gandhian values of self-reliance, social activist, environmentalist and classical kathak dancer Arushi Nishank of Uttarakhand supported and trained thousands of rural women in Uttarakhand to take up sui dhaga (needle and thread) to make reusable khadi and suti masks for free distribution to the army personnel, police, rural workers and frontline covid warriors. So far, over a lac of such masks have been distributed in Delhi, Mumbai and cities and towns of Uttarakhand. Arushi is also planning some big projects with Bollywood directors and producers for the OTT platform.

“Khadi is a symbol of Gandhiji’s self-reliance and is environmentally friendly and in tune with the spirit of Prime Minister’s Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative. Thousands of rural women who made these masks developed skills and are gainfully employed,” said Arushi at an Ek Mulakat webinar in conversation with Ehsaas Women of Kolkata member, Nilisha Agarwal. The webinar was organized by Kolkata-based NGO Prabha Khaitan Foundation. Over the years Ek Mulakat has become a popular forum for free-wheeling discussions with eminent personalities and achievers.

“It was great to have a young achiever to share her ideas, life experiences and dreams with us. Arushi, who is proud of her Indian heritage, is a source of inspiration for thousands of poor women and others. At present, Arushi connects with thousands of people through the Sparsh Ganga campaign to promote awareness of Ganga and its biodiversity,” said social and cultural activist, Sundeep Bhutoria, Trustee, Prabha Khaitan Foundation.

Arushi, who has authored two books and also produced a regional film Major Nirala on the Indian Army, is now interested in big banner Bollywood projects, “Yes! I am in talks with some big directors and producers for OTT platform projects for two or three web series. I am thankful to Prasun Joshi for support. I hope to make an announcement soon,” she said.

Arushi, the chairperson of Himalaya Ayurvedic Medical College & Hospital in Dehradun. She has chaired the International Environment Summit (IES) and spearheads the Sparsh Ganga Foundation, an NGO promoting environmental awareness, sustainable development, women empowerment, water conservation and cleaning river Ganga and other water bodies. The Government of India has recognised volunteers of the Sparsh Ganga campaign as “Ganga Heroes”.

Arushi started a environmental awareness project “Beautiful Valley” in 2009 and drew in the support of the Dalai Lama and Hema Malini, MP, and others. Her father, Ramesh Pokhriyal, the Hon’ble Education Minister of India, is a great source of inspiration.

A votary of circular economy and the live wire behind Sparsh Ganga’s various social initiatives, Arushi has trained and engaged over 800 rural women to be gainfully employed for making masks, incense sticks from waste flowers and environmental-friendly biodegradable jute bags as substitute for plastic. A classical Kathak exponent, Arushi has performed in over 15 countries. Her Kathak ballet “Ganga Avataran” has been much appreciated the world over. “The ballet gave me an opportunity to fuse my two passions – environmental awareness and dance,” she said.

Replying to a question “What can we do from our homes during covid times to support the environment?” Arushi said, “First we should keep our families and the country safe by staying indoors and by maintaining social distance protocols. Second we should conserve water. There is a water crisis looming over 22 cities in the country. About 70 per cent of water used is wasted which we should find ways of conserving and utilising in a proper way like watering plants and so on.”

AB Ani CD Producer Akshay Bardapurkar In An Open Conversation With Harshita Dagha About Planet Marathi OTTs Nepotism And More...

Akshay Bardapurkar’s diligent modus operandi to touch fame skyrocket and surpass conventional content ideas in the current cinema scene. While the la-di-la of Bollywood strive acutely towards cinematic excellence, Akshay’s futuristic and high-quality compositions have already set a benchmark for content in Marathi and well as Indian cinema.

“I feel if your intent, goal and vision is set and you know what your purpose is and what it is that you want to achieve, I feel every struggle that you have been a part of gets rewarded. I have been lucky that I have been rewarded for my hard-work,” the producer of AB ani CD talks to author-journalist Harshita Dagha as he reminisces about all the stumbling blocks (read nepotism) have helped him climb and reach the summit, he believes.

“Forget nepotism, the Marathi film industry is struggling with existencial crisis.” Akshay feels. But his unapologetic will to help the Marathi film industry reach greater heights shows no stop signs.

Entrepreneurship flows like blood in the veins of Akshay, he says. “I started organising small events when I was 20. I used to organize everything and charge a legitimate fee for the same. I began my career as an event manager and after many years I became a producer, but one thing that is common between the both of them is that they both need precise decision-making, leadership qualities and eyes set for a successful execution while managing the monies extremely well.” He also tells Harshita Dagha that the said qualities are an intangible part of his DNA and character.

From producing some of the best content-packed films to launching Planet Marathi, Akshay Bardapurkar has come a long way. Talk about how he achieved it – he believes it is sincerity, dedication and commitment that leads one into achieving what they truly aim for. “I work extremely hard, sleep very less and have designed my system in such a way wherein once a decision is taken, it doesn’t come back to me until it is executed, so I try and see there is no waste of time happening.

The only time I hold is to take crucial decisions. Once they’re taken, I don’t revisit.” The quick-witted man has some important hacks for aspiring new-comers in the entertainment industry.
